Bespoke red ducting (within which the DC power cable will be laid) has been procured and delivered to site in readiness for installation within the Coal Orchard development site. This ducting will be buried as per WPD's procedures and aligned with the site selection cable routings map. It was determined that red ducting was required (rather than the standard black ducting) to aid identification and provide an extra warning safety measure for WPD staff should repair works ever be required on the DC cable in the future.
